ANZAC’s Long Shadow: Prof Marilyn Lake, Melbourne University
How do we demilitarise Australian culture? These questions were addressed by a panel of speakers including including Professor Marilyn Lake, ARC Professorial Fellow and Professor in History at The University of Melbourne, Dr Peter Slezak, Associate Professor, School of Humanities and Languages, UNSW and Mehreen Faruqi, NSW Greens MP who addressed the move by the current government towards war and increasing the militarisation of our country.
The Greens Reboot Futures Conference was held in Sydney at UTS on the weekend of September 20 & 21 2014 and was organised by the Greens Political Education Trust.
The conference was designed to bring Greens activists and others to hear from a range of speakers and engage in a discussion of the future for Australia in the fight against the Abbott Liberal Government.
