Warr seeks youth opinion through new advisory council
Member for Geraldton Kirrilee Warr MLA is seeking out young people to help shape future decision making through the Geraldton Youth Advisory Council.
The council, aimed at young people aged 15 to 25, would help give young people a voice to discuss the issues that matter to them in Geraldton.
"Our young people will be our future leaders, and now is the time to help give them a platform to hear their opinions," Ms Warr said.
"Getting some of the region's brightest young minds together will be helpful in showing what young people in Geraldton care about and how we can approach these issues."
The Youth Advisory Council would see up to 15 young people participate in regular meetings to discuss local, state, and national issues.
Ms Warr said these discussions would be beneficial when it comes to shaping discussions in Parliament.
"Hearing young people's concerns will help provide new perspectives when it comes to decision making and could help shape what is said in Parliament," she said.
"By having a forum where a diverse group of young people can express their opinions and share ideas, we can look at putting thoughts into action to getting results for the next generation."
Expressions of Interest for the Geraldton Youth Advisory Council are open. It can be found at the following online form: https://forms.office.com/r/s0zSnv2B7V
