Samantha Ratnam’s Motion in support of refugees and asylum seekers
Refugees and asylum seekers in Australia should be able to safely begin rebuilding their lives, without fear of deportation.
On the final sitting day for 2022, Samantha Ratnam, Leader of the Victorian Greens, moved a motion calling for a renewed commitment from the Victorian Government to support all people seeking refugee and asylum in Australia.
Until our governments abandon the cruel, punitive asylum seeker policies of the past and accept refugees, as is our international obligation, Australia can never claim to be a compassionate country on the world stage.
The Greens will never stop fighting until all refugees and asylum seekers in Australia can live free in the community.
