15 New Social Homes to Boost Seniors’ Housing in SW
In a major boost for the availability of social housing in the South West, a contract has now been signed to deliver 15 new seniors social homes in the town of Witchcliffe.
The homes are being funded through a $6.6 million State Government grant and will be delivered by community housing provider Co-Operation Housing.
The contract has been signed with building company, Bilco Construction, as part of a broader development of 25 homes on Kyloring Drive Witchcliffe.
These homes will be built in various configurations to meet the lifestyle requirements of tenants, and have been designed to a Gold Liveability standard, including wider doorframes and passageways, ramps and efficient bathroom and kitchen layouts.
Once completed, these 15 new homes will add to the 160 social homes already added in the South West since 2021, and the nearly 3,000 delivered across the State.
As stated by Housing and Works Minister John Carey:
“The Cook Labor Government is doing everything we can to boost housing supply across the State – particularly for the most vulnerable members of our community.
“Thanks to a $6.6 million grant, the State Government has been able to partner with Co-Operation Housing to provide 15 new homes.
“The Cook Labor Government has now invested more than $5 billion in housing and homelessness measures, which has seen nearly 3,000 new social homes delivered since 2021.”
