2025-26 State Budget
Western Australian State Budget
The 2025-26 Budget highlights the resilience of Western Australia’s domestic economy, with economic growth leading the nation and supporting record levels of employment.
The State’s finances also remain strong with a seventh consecutive operating surplus of $2.5 billion in 2024-25 and surpluses of between $2.4 billion and $2.8 billion in each of the four years to 2028-29. These surpluses are an important non-debt source of funding for the Government’s $38 billion infrastructure program over the next four years and assist in keeping Western Australia’s net debt the most affordable in the country.
Key initiatives in the Budget include: $963 million in cost of living relief measures; $1.4 billion additional investment in the health and mental health system; further funding of $1.4 billion for initiatives to improve housing supply and affordability; additional funding of $1.8 billion for education and training; and further initiatives to diversify and decarbonise the economy.
