2025 Nursing & Midwifery Awards Finalists Revealed

Forty-one of Western Australia’s most dedicated nurses and midwives, along with four outstanding nursing and midwifery teams, have been named finalists for the 2025 WA Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards (WANMEA).

These finalists have been selected from nominations across 14 categories and represent excellence in patient care, leadership and innovation in the health sector.

The WANMEA is an annual event co-ordinated by the Department of Health, recognising outstanding contributions from nurses and midwives across public, private and non-government organisations.

Winners, including the prestigious 2025 WA Nurse or Midwife of the Year and the recipient of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Honour, will be announced at a gala event on Saturday, 10 May 2025.

As stated by Health Minister Meredith Hammat:

“The dedication and professionalism demonstrated by this year’s finalists is truly inspiring.

“The commitment of this year’s finalists to delivering exceptional care and enhancing health outcomes for Western Australians is remarkable.

“More than 47,000 nurses and midwives are at the heart of our healthcare system, delivering professional, compassionate, safe and effective care across our hospitals, clinics and communities in Western Australia.

“It is important to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate nurses and midwives’ hard work, leadership and unwavering commitment to their profession.

“These awards shine a light on the vital role nurses and midwives play in the lives of so many people across Western Australia.”
