Today, Max Chandler-Mather, Federal MP for Griffith has announced our plan to build hundreds of thousands of affordable new homes and tackle the housing crisis. Under the Greens plan, the public developer would build 360,000 good quality homes over the next five years, and 610,000 homes over the decade – in addition to whatever the private sector builds. Of these homes, 30% would be available for purchase for first home-buyers and anyone who doesn’t already own a home. They would be sold at just above the cost of construction. 70% would be available to rent, with rents capped at 25% of household income. 👇
