A sitting week in Canberra, then home in Wentworth this weekend. We are back in Canberra again tomorrow and I'll keep you updated as the week goes on - but for now here's the dump from the last fortnight!
1. Meeting a very cute baby salty croc at the ACT showcase in Parliament
2. Also got to meet a 🐍 which is slightly less cute still very cool
3. At UN Women's International Women's Day breakfast. The theme for IWD 2026 is "Balance the scales" and we heard some of the evidence about the importance of advancing gender equality to improve outcomes for everyone - both in Australia but also around the world.
4. Meeting with Home Time to talk about housing for young people and why every child should have a home
5. Marking Extreme Heat Awareness Day with @redcrossau. We know that our climate is getting hotter and hotter - and it's important all Australians are well prepared to stay safe. This is an important day to recognise how we must adapt to our changing climate and a reminder of why we need strong climate action now.
6. It was an honour to receive the flag flown in Parliament during the Bondi condolence motion from @miltondickmp. I've brought it back home to Wentworth and will present it to the Jewish community.
7. Pretty sunset on the way home after a day in Parliament
8. Catching up with @chs_community_health_support in North Bondi to say thank you for all the extraordinary work they do keeping people safe.
9. Popping into our local Bondi businesses and had a great chat with John from @thedepotbondi on the resilience of our community.
10. At the opening of the new Bondi Medicare Mental Health Care Clinic. This is at a pop up location at 59 Newland St, Bondi Junction and is open to all - no fees, no Medicare card, no appointment or referrals necessary.
11. This was very funny - see if you spot some familiar names from the SMH cryptic crossword on Friday!
12. Pleasing to watch ABC Insiders this morning and see how the policy argument has shifted to put productivity, inter-generational equity and tax reform on the agenda.
