Our community lost 15 precious lives due to violent antisemitic hatred. We must do everything in our power to prevent a tragedy like this from occurring again.
That means being strong in confronting hatred and violent extremism, and being clear about what it takes to ensure Jewish Australians can live, gather and practise their faith in safety.
It also means being soft – holding onto our shared humanity, being curious rather than suspicious of difference, and remembering that our social fabric is built on every single one of our relationships with one another. Strengthening that fabric is a responsibility for all of us.
