This morning I attended the Ovarian Cancer Australia breakfast in Parliament to mark World Cancer Day.

It was incredibly moving. Over the years, I've met many people in Wentworth living with ovarian and other gynaecological cancers, and heard first-hand how hard and isolating those journeys can be.

While we've made important progress in cancer research and treatment, too many people still face late diagnosis for too many cancers, with uneven access to care, and cancers that remain under-researched, including several gynaecological cancers.

Today is a reminder of how far we've come, and how much more there is to do in prevention, research and care. I am pushing greater investment in gynaecological cancers and will continue to do this.
