Yesterday's AEMO report confirms some fantastic news for the start of the year: for the first time, renewables supplied over 50% of quarterly NEM energy needs! This is an important milestone for our transition away from coal-fired power stations to a clean energy future.
And there's more to celebrate: wholesale electricity prices were 44% lower than the same period in 2024, and coal fired generation fell to an all time quarterly low 🎉
I am encouraged by these results. We are heading in the right direction - now it's time to pick up the pace.
