Anthony Albanese visits Gateway WA project in Perth, Western Australia
Gateway WA is the largest infrastructure project in Western Australia’s history. It was jointly funded by the former Federal Labor Government and the state Liberal-National Government.
The project will upgrade the road network around Perth airport and surrounding areas, creating jobs and boosting productivity in Western Australia.
Construction began in February 2013 and the first stage of the project, the Abernethy Road-Tonkin Highway on-ramp opened in November 2013.
6000 vehicles are using the ramp each day, saving 7 minutes travel time and 3.7 kilometers over existing routes.
