Coronavirus | Speech to Parliament
My speech in Parliament on coronavirus.
We won’t stand in the way of the Government’s stimulus package. We support it not because it’s perfect, but because it’s urgent – and Labor will keep making constructive suggestions to help the Government get this right.
We still have concerns about the early accessing of superannuation. That Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY and Austudy recipients won’t receive the coronavirus supplement. That some visa holders are also being left out.
We’re concerned that the hospitality, arts and entertainment industries aren’t getting direct support, and that there isn’t direct support to keep workers in their jobs.
We aren’t looking for arguments. We’re looking for solutions. The Australian people are relying on us – and we must not let them down.
