Australia signs international declaration on AI safety

Australia was one of 28 countries signing the declaration at the AI Safety Summit in the United Kingdom.

Hosted by the UK Government, the summit was attended by governments, AI companies, civil society groups and academics.

The Bletchley Declaration highlights the opportunities of AI and the need for governments to work together to manage the risks. It will help the international community safely harness the benefits of AI technology for everyone. 

The declaration complements the Australian Government’s existing work on supporting responsible AI
