Labor’s new hate laws, passed in a dirty deal with the Liberals, could have chilling impacts on people’s free political expression and ability to protest – including the ability to criticise Israel and its leader.
We should not be criminalising criticism of any government, whether it be Israel, Russia or Australia. People should be able to voice their concerns and oppositions to human rights abuses without fear.
These laws are overreaching and dangerous and the Greens condemn the major parties for rushing them through despite strong opposition from community and experts.
