Recap of Parliament with Adam Bandt
Yesterday we were back in Parliament to vote on the government’s latest COVID-19 stimulus package.
While the JobKeeper package is much needed to ensure people who’ve lost their jobs can pay rent and put food on the table – it still leaves millions of people behind.
The Greens tried to extend JobKeeper to cover casual workers who’ve been in their current job less than 12 months, those on temporary working visas and international students. But the Liberals, Labor and One Nation all voted against extending the payment to those who will miss out.
This is not over. Even though parliament is done, the Government still has options to extend JobKeeper to those who need it and we will keep fighting until all workers are supported.
