Carol Berry, Labor’s new member for Whitlam, has lived in the Illawarra for over 25 years and has raised her family there. Carol has been active in the local community and has dedicated her time as a volunteer for local P&Cs, committees and sporting clubs.

Prior to her election, Carol was the CEO of The Disability Trust, which is one of the largest providers of disability services in Australia, with its head offices based in the Illawarra.

Carol was previously the CEO of the Illawarra Women’s Health Centre in Warilla, and also worked as a lawyer for the Public Interest Advocacy Centre. Carol’s first case was representing the Aboriginal Tent Embassy at Sandon Point in their effort to have Sandon Point recognised as an ancient burial ground.

Carol has also worked for the state (NSW Ombudsman) and federal governments (NDIA). Carol is passionate about social justice and has dedicated her career to helping others. Welcome to the Labor team, Carol!
