Meet David Moncrieff, the new Labor Member for Hughes in the southern and south-western suburbs of Sydney.
Growing up in the Sutherland Shire, David attended St John Bosco Primary School and St John Bosco College in Engadine and subsequently studied Economics and Finance at the University of Wollongong. He also holds post-graduate qualifications in applied economics, mathematics and statistics.
Having also worked in the private sector of the finance industry, David knows the importance of a strong economy and of creating a space that allows business to succeed. With a background in financial regulation, David knows what it takes to stand up for the community.
The Hughes electorate contains some of the most pristine natural environments in Australia, including the Royal National Park, Heathcote National Park and rivers including the Hacking, the Woronora and the Georges. David is a fierce advocate for ensuring that these are preserved for future generations to enjoy.
Congratulations on your successful campaign for the seat of Hughes, David, and welcome to the Labor team!
