Meet Zhi Soon, Labor’s new member for Banks. A lifelong local, father, respected education policy adviser and former Australian diplomat in Afghanistan, Zhi has always put his community first.
Zhi has a wealth of experience in public service, including as a member of the Youth Advisory Council and the youngest ever appointee to the NSW Board of Studies, for which he was awarded the Young Australian of the Year in the ACT in 2008. In all of his endeavours, Zhi’s guiding principles have been fairness and integrity.
Zhi ran for Federal Parliament because he wants a government that cares about people, and that is focused on improving the lives of local residents across the Banks electorate. He knows the Labor Government has made progress to protect and strengthen Medicare, deliver tax cuts for every taxpayer, and invest in education from pre-school through to university and TAFE, and Zhi has the experience and passion to deliver what his community needs and deserves. Welcome to the Labor team, Zhi!
