The 18th of August holds a special meaning for Australia’s Vietnam veterans, marking the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan in 1966.
On Vietnam Veterans’ Day, we pay tribute to the more than 60,000 Australians who served in Vietnam and remember the thousands of Australians wounded, and the more than 520 who lost their lives. We also honour those who love and supported them, and those who have passed in the years since their return.
Lest we forget.
