Australia Post has advised due to flooding in Far North Queensland on the Cairns to Karumba route, its is temporarily unable to provide delivery services between these locations.
Affected townships include Normanton, Karumba and Gununa.
– Deliveries already in transit to Normanton will be delayed by up to 2 days.
– The next despatch to the region is on Wednesday 11 January and Aus Post will only be sending mail to Mt Surprise, Einasleigh and Georgetown.
– Future deliveries to Normanton will be sent out on Monday, 16 January.
– Aus Post is working with the local council at Normanton to create a plan to transport mail to Karumba.
