New Allergy Advice Platform Bridges Rural Care Gap

Independent Education Union of Australia NSW/ACT Branch

Brindabella Christian College Launches New Chapter

The union representing staff in non-government schools met with Brindabella Christian College and a representative of the College’s administrators at the Fair Work Commission this afternoon.

Staff have today received back pay for the pay period ending 21 February. Regular wages that are due today were processed at midday today.

“Today’s conference was productive and reassuring, and staff are reporting that they are receiving the pay that is due to them,” said Independent Education Union of Australia NSW/ACT Branch Secretary Carol Matthews.

“This is a huge relief after a fortnight of uncertainty, and with administrators now in place, staff can fully focus on doing what they do best – teaching and supporting students.”

“The union welcomes the administrator’s commitment to providing regular updates to staff, parents, carers, guardians, and the wider school community as they move through the administration process.”

With an administrator now in control of the school’s finances, the union understands federal funding will continue.

Brindabella has almost 1200 students and about 200 staff at its two campuses. Tuition fees in 2025 range from $10,575 a year for K-4 and $15,400 for Years 9-12.

“The IEU welcomes this new chapter for Brindabella and we will continue to monitor the situation and advocate for our members,” Matthews said.
