Canberra Liberals achievements in 2018
2018 was a big year for the Canberra Liberals. In 2018 we:
1. Established an anti-corruption commission.
2. Legislated to publish government land purchases.
3. Committed to cap rates.
4. Stood up for teachers, doctors, nurses and other frontline staff.
5. Introduced anti-bikie laws.
6. Established multiple inquiries into ACT Health.
7. Called for action on violent attacks on teachers.
8. Revealed the truth about hospital waiting times.
9. Secured funding for disability groups.
10. Commenced audit of playgrounds.
11. Saved dozens of school buses (and fighting for more).
12. Reported the presence of asbestos in two new ACT schools.
13. Increased police patrols.
14. Established inquiries into rates increases.
15. Exposed shortfall in ambulance staffing levels.
16. Fought for religious freedom in schools.
17. Lobbied for new indoor sports facilities.
18. Campaigned for businesses impacted by light rail construction.
19. Advocated for community clubs.
20. Called on the government to cut land tax to support people on lower incomes.
21. Revealed controversial government purchases of rural land.
22. Presented laws to protect Canberrans from dangerous dogs.
23. Voted against government-union deal that hurts small business.
24. Secured child protection kits for new parents.
25. Saved the Community Contribution Scheme.
We did all this from Opposition.
We will do even more in 2019.
We could do even more in Government.
