Construction Tender Advertised For New Renal Unit
The new Renal Unit at the Kings Meadows Community Health Centre has reached an important milestone, with tenders now invited for its construction.
The Australian Government has provided $10 million for the Kings Meadows Community Health Centre Redevelopment through the Community Health and Hospitals Program.
Minister for Health, Jacquie Petrusma, said the new health centre will deliver better and more modern health services for the Launceston community.
“Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are working hard to build an even better healthcare system and deliver this important project for the community,” Minister Petrusma said.
“Stage 1 of the redevelopment will see the existing Joan Marshall building demolished and replaced with a new, expanded Renal Unit to increase renal service delivery.
“This redevelopment is an important step to deliver more modern health facilities for the Launceston community, and we look forward to keeping the community informed as this important project progresses.
“Consideration is also being given to establishing additional services in Northern Tasmania, to ensure there is extra capacity to accommodate demand.”
