Council Approves Jubilee Stadium Precinct Master Plan
At its meeting on Monday 24 March, Georges River Council unanimously voted to endorse the draft Jubilee Stadium Precinct Master Plan and Plan of Management for the purposes of public exhibition, subject to Crown Lands approval.
The Jubilee Stadium Precinct comprises the area between Princes Highway, Jubilee Avenue, Park Street and English Street in Carlton. It is made up of open spaces and facilities, including Jubilee Stadium, Kogarah Park, and community buildings.
Council will now seek formal approval from Crown Lands to publicly exhibit the draft Jubilee Stadium Precinct Master Plan and Plan of Management.
Crown land is land which is owned by the NSW Government in the public interest. The Jubilee Stadium Precinct is managed by Council under the Crown Land Management Act 2016 in New South Wales.
Council is expecting the next round of community consultation on the draft Plans to take place in late-2025, as the review process by Crown Lands may take several months.
Council will invite the community to provide further feedback following the approval of the Plans from Crown Lands.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “this is an important milestone towards completing a cohesive vision for the Jubilee Stadium Precinct.
“This plan reflects the voices of our community. Through extensive consultation and careful planning, we’ve created a roadmap that will underpin the future management of the Precinct as a multi-purpose and active community asset and sporting hub.”
“We thank our community for all the input and ideas so far and look forward to sharing the draft plans with our community and seeking further feedback during the public exhibition period.”
