Speaking in the Senate on the condolence motion on the Bondi terror attack that targeted the Jewish Community as they celebrated Chanukah by the sea.
I will have more to say on the legislation tomorrow.
Today was about putting on record the deepest condolences of our community for the 15 lives taken and celebrating the courage, selflessness and compassion of so many people in Bondi and across Australia in responding.
Today was about coming together, about unity, and committing to do everything we can to make sure it never happens again.
People who’ve followed me for a while would know I rarely ever turn comments off on my posts as I think its important for everyone to have their say but I am going to on this one so as not to cause more pain for people in the community who are already hurting.
I’ll be posting more tonight and tomorrow that will be open for comment, in addition to all the consultation and feedback I’ve already been seeking.
