Everyone knows we have some terrible staff shortages in Tasmania in areas like child safety, health, and education. The only way to turn this situation around is to do things differently so we can attract the workers we need – and keep them here. That’s why I was proud to launch the Greens’ plan to boost recruitment and retention of staff in areas of critical shortage with Thirza White, Secretary of CPSU Tasmania! Our plan: ✅ Pays off the university debt of new staff
✅ Improves leave entitlements and access
✅ Provides housing for staff in regional areas These measures are crucial to make sure Tasmania’s essential services have the staff they need to deliver the support our community needs. With the Greens in balance of power we’ll fight to make sure the next government finally invests in plans to recruit and retain staff so we don’t fall even further behind the mainland.
