First Bridge Complete on Rockhampton Ring Road
The new concrete bridge replaces an old timber bridge, and will be more flood resilient and improve accessibility for local communities during wet weather events.
Work on the West Rockhampton local road connections to the Ring Road are also currently being finalised.
This is part of the $1.98 billion Rockhampton Ring Road project, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments.
The project involves the construction of a new 18km section of the Bruce Highway to the west of Rockhampton. It will bring safety improvements and reduce congestion for Rockhampton road users by diverting trucks away from the town centre, as well as increasing flood resilience.
