Free Trees for Local Government Week 2025
It’s that time of year again – our much-loved Dungog Shire Council Tree Giveaway is back to celebrate Local Government Week in conjunction with National Tree Day!
We’ve got 350 native tube stock trees ready to gift to residents across the shire. This is your chance to add some greenery to your patch – for free!
Trees will be available for collection from Tuesday 5 August.

But be quick – stocks are limited and trees will go fast!
Each household can claim up to three free native trees while stocks last.
And it’s not just for households – community groups and schools are also invited to join in, with up to 25 bush tucker or native trees available through Riverdene Nursery.
Schools and Community Groups must organise a voucher by contacting Tracey Lowrey at Dungog Shire Council.
