Funding Lights Up Sawtell’s Streets
A local project which will light up Sawtell’s streets can now power ahead thanks to a funding boost from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
Nationals Member for Coffs Harbour, Gurmesh Singh, said he’s extremely pleased Sawtell Chamber of Commerce secured a $14,333 grant for its community-led Sawtell Festoon Light Upgrade.
Mr Singh said the Chamber can now replace the existing and ageing festoon lights in Sawtell’s First Avenue with new lights as well as extend the lighting coverage to encompass the entire CBD.
“This is a fantastic grassroots community project which now has the green light thanks to this welcome funding,” Mr Singh said.
“It’s projects like these, big or small, which can make a real difference in our community.
“I know the new lights will be warmly welcomed by the local community and I congratulate Sawtell Chamber of Commerce for submitting these improvements for funding consideration.”
Mr Singh said the Coffs Coast had secured more than $440,000 in funding for local projects through the 2025 Community Building Partnership Program.
This program ensures organisations and councils across NSW have the facilities to support more vibrant and inclusive communities.
