Across the region we are hearing a lot about the risk of flooding over the next few days.
It’s important to know what you need to do to be prepared and to get your information from a trustworthy source.
The SES has local flood guides and flood history for every local government area, showing which properties are at risk of flood and where floods have previously affected. This is an important resource to look at, especially if you are new to town: https://www.ses.vic.gov.au/plan-and-stay-safe/flood-guides
The Bureau of Meteorology releases regular flood watches and flood warnings about the current situation and rain forecasts: http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/warnings/
And the VicEmergency app and website also give you a picture of current warnings, road closures and more. The app is a great one to download and set up for notifications about your local area: https://www.emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/
