How about heading up to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort near Marysville?
There’s some great activities on for the whole family, including tube run, flying fox, arts and crafts, face painting and Little Shredders.
Lake Mountain is of course a must-do for mountain bikers and bushwalkers, with different trails available for different abilities. Lake Mountain has also recently invested in all-abilities mountain bikes and a special trail, meaning even more thrill-seekers can enjoy the experience.
I was really impressed speaking to Nathan, Alex and Ryan last week about the ways in which the Resort is diversifying and offering more environmental activities, including an upcoming nature walk on May 7.
It was great timing to be there and see some of the work being done to install solar panels at the resort. Currently Lake Mountain relies completely on diesel generators. When the solar panels and battery are up and running they will save around $400,000 a year in diesel. It’s one of many reasons I’m passionate about moving to renewables – the economic difference is huge!
