As a nurse and midwife, I feel right at home surrounded by people in scrubs. I caught up with the Alexandra District Health nursing staff on the double shift during my recent visit to the hospital. These staff are the backbone of the service, providing dedicated and committed inpatient and primary health services. They have done an incredible job over a difficult last two years.
I also met interim CEO Andrew Brown and Manager of Acute and Urgent Care Jeanie Hurrey to discuss community models of care, nurse practitioners and supporting graduate doctors.
Congratulations to Alexandra District Health which recently celebrated 150 years of serving the community, that is an impressive innings.
