At the Chiltern Athanaeum Museum is custodian of a unique collection of objects and stories that highlights the wealth of history from the areas of Chiltern, Barnawartha, Indigo Valley, Cornishtown, Chiltern Valley and Springhurst, from the early 1800s.

The volunteers there do important work in managing and preserving photos and artefacts that give a glimpse into the history of the region and I was pleased to be able to support their work through the volunteer grants program with funding of $4777 for cameras and lighting equipment. Previously this was only possible when equipment was on loan from the Burke Museum but now that won’t be a barrier!

A new round of the Volunteer Grants Program is open for expressions of interest now. Head to my website to find what projects are eligible and to fill out an expression of interest form.
