This is week in parliament I presented a bold vision for the future of our regional health workforce and called on the Federal Government to fund a plan to make Albury Wodonga the Regional Health Education and
Research Capital of Australia.Following meetings with leaders from Albury Wodonga Health and the Border region’s universities and TAFEs, the proposal for the Collaborative Education and Research Centre, at the redeveloped Albury Wodonga Health precinct, was created.
This purpose-built facility would focus on clinical practice, education, training and research to support healthcare training providers deliver facilities for undergraduates and post-graduate professionals training on the Border.
I want the best health facilities for our region, and we must address the biggest issue facing our health sector – finding and keeping the doctors, nurses and allied health professionals who care for us.
