Defence families experience unique challenges and sacrifices made not just by the servicemen and women, but by those closest to them, such as changing schools often and extended absences by parents.
It’s why it
‘s so important that Wodonga Primary School has opened a new memorial garden dedicated to defence families, recognising these experiences and I was so glad to be a part of the official opening yesterday. The garden features a lone Gallipoli Pine at the front of the school, which will grow for years to come.
This memorial garden will provide a space for students at Wodonga Primary School to pay tribute to servicemen and women, as well as acknowledging the experiences of the many defence families at the school.
