❗️Flood Assistance is Available❗️

Financial assistance for people who have been affected by the flooding across Victoria has been announced by the Victorian and Federal Governments.

👉Victorian emergency relief assistance payment👈

This payment up to $2,030 per eligible family, including $580 per adult and $290 per child, are available through a one-off payment to help meet immediate needs including food, shelter, clothing, and medication.

👉Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment👈

This one-off lump sum payment of $1000 per adult and $400 per child is available if you’ve been significantly affected by Victorian Floods in October 2022. You are eligible if you’re in a Local Government Area (LGA) that’s been declared for a disaster and you have experienced major damage to your property or other assets. In Indi, Strathbogie is one of the LGAs that has been declared eligible by the Government.

👉Disaster Recovery Allowance👈

The Disaster Recovery Allowance is a short term payment to help you if the Victorian Floods in October 2022 directly affects your income. You can get it for a maximum of 13 weeks. It will be paid from the date you started losing income as a direct result of the Victorian Floods that started on 6 October 2022.

Eligible LGAs in Indi are Alpine, Benalla, Mansfield, Murrindindi, Strathbogie and Wangaratta.

Payments of $500,000 have also been announced for local councils to assist them in the response to the floods. Councils in Indi that will receive that payment are Alpine, Benalla, Mansfield, Murrindindi, Strathbogie and Wangaratta.
