Footy clubs are about so much more than footy.
This week most of the players for the Wangaratta Rovers Football & Netball Club Wangaratta Rovers Female Football Club Under 17s girls team completed a barista training course at GOTAFE Wangaratta, giving them a skill that will open the door to employment opportunities.
Players who have done the course will also be able to help out in the canteen at the club, giving that experience that is so important on a CV and once you get out in the workforce.
We had a great discussion about all the work the club is doing to support the players, not just on the field, but in the wider community as well.
