Happy International Women’s Day!
This morning we got to witness the unveiling of the statue of Dame Dorothy Tangney and Dame Enid Lyons, the first women to sit in Australia’s parliament.
The statue recreates the iconic photo of the two women as they walked in the doors of Old Parliament House in 1943.
They blazed a trail that many women have followed. So many that when we tried to get a photo of all female MPs at today’s unveiling we couldn’t all fit! I’m in there even if you can’t spot me!
