I dropped into Euroa Pharmacy when I was in town yesterday and rolled up my sleeve for my COVID-19 vaccine booster. I had a great chat with Rossa and I am glad to have that extra layer of protection against COVID-19.
It is now recommended for everyone over 50 (that’s me!) to receive a fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine. In Australia, everyone over 30 is eligible to receive a fourth dose.
I understand many people in Indi are reporting long wait times to access their booster dose – I experienced that too when ringing around trying to make an appointment. While vaccination hubs have closed in many towns, GPs and pharmacies are the best place to try.
If you’re unsure about whether you should get a booster, make an appointment with a GP and have a chat.
It’s clear we are entering a new wave of the pandemic, with the newer variants already causing strain on our health system. The Victorian Government’s advice is:
😷wearing a mask when indoors or in a crowded space is recommended
👩💻consider working from home where appropriate
🤧get tested and stay home if you are feeling unwell
If you see me out and about, I’ll be wearing my mask more often as I make every effort to keep myself and others safe, and to reduce the pressure on our health system.
