It was great to be briefed on the work that Upper Murray Inc is doing to secure a reliable supply of power for the Upper Murray.
The Upper Murray has secured almost $3 million in Federal funding to build out a network of solar panels and batteries on community buildings. The aim is for the region to be able to generate its own power.
This community got isolated in the Black Summer fires when the single power line to Wodonga was burned through. That can never happen again, and local renewable generation and storage is going to make sure of it.
This is nation-leading stuff and I am so proud it is happening right here in the Upper Murray.
