Last night I went down to Apex Park to meet with people visiting the Wangaratta Care-van.

The Care-van is a fully volunteer-run group that cooks hot meals for anyone who needs one, in Apex Park, 6pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

If you live in Wangaratta, you’ll probably have seen there are more and more people sleeping rough at the moment.

With the rivers so high and the temperatures so low, people just can’t be living in tents – we really need to see more Government support to tackle the housing crisis in our region.

I am grateful to the many people experiencing homelessness who shared their stories with me last night. And I’m committed to fighting for a solution to our housing crisis.
