Helen Haines MP

On my recent trip to Mansfield, I took a tour of the IMPACT Route with Mansfield Shire Council Mayor James Tehan, CEO Kirsten Alexander and Kurt Heidecker, Manager of Major Projects.

The IMPACT Route is a major infrastructure investment which will deliver upgrades to 16km of roads around Mansfield, including Highton Lane, Rifle Butts Road and Chapel Hill Road.

After the recent change of Government, I lobbied Minister Catherine King to ensure that the $9.8 million Commonwealth funding was delivered to Mansfield. I’m proud to have secured that commitment and I’m delighted that this upgrade will go ahead as planned.

This road will improve the safety and amenity of key roads, give agricultural transport vehicles and stock trucks direct routes to farms, and enhance visitor experience for people visiting the spectacular Mansfield region.

It’s great for locals, businesses, farmers and visitors alike, and I’m looking forward to seeing the development progress.
