Helen Haines MP

In two weeks we will see the Government’s legislation for the National Anti Corruption Commission.

It’s been a long time coming and I have been in regular contact with the Attorney General as part of consultations on what the new integrity body will look like.

But the job is far from finished. There are many issues I am still pushing for the Government to do better on, or to make their intentions clear.

This is a once in a generation opportunity to implement an integrity commission that holds politicians to account and creates a better level of transparency and governance at the federal level.

I’ll be working hard to make sure we get it right.
