Recently I hosted a meeting with Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Catherine King and representatives from the local councils across Indi.
I met with Minister King early in this term of Parliament to make the case to her about the need for investment in our region and I was so pleased when she accepted my invitation to meet with local council reps from across the North East in the beautiful town of Bright.
Local government plays a vital role in delivering infrastructure for our region and in regional development and roads, so it was crucial they were able to get this access to the Minister.
When there is a new Government with new processes and priorities, councils need to know how best to work with the Government to achieve their goals, and this meeting allowed Councillors to get this insight.
