Right now the Australian Government is facing many challenges. Action on climate change. Addressing the rising cost of living.
These are challenges, but also opportunities. For sensible reform. To empower Australians to take control of their own energy. To reduce emissions. To reduce power bills.
I co-wrote this article in The Canberra Times with Saul Griffith. Saul is a world leader in this sector. He knows that we must assist households to move to low emissions electric appliances, powered by renewables, and together we have suggested a number of policy measures to make it happen.
Reducing household emissions doesn’t mean sitting in the dark and cold. It means using energy smarter, enjoying more comfortable homes, and saving money.
I am committed to pushing this Government to more ambitious action on climate change, that helps everyday Australians at the same time.
