The Mansfield Heritage Museum is a step closer to reality after the announcement of the tender to build the new facility at the Mansfield Station Precinct. The Museum will showcase the region’s history through memorabilia and artefacts. Work is planned to commence in November 2023 with anticipated completion of the Stage 1 construction works by June 2024.

The Mansfield Heritage Museum will tell the story of where we have come from, who we are, and where we are going.

Mansfield has a rich history, and this will offer something to those who have lived in Mansfield all their lives, those who are new to town, and our traditional owners who have been here for tens of thousands of years.

Everybody has a place and everybody can find a connection.

This is an exciting development for all the groups who have been involved in this important project – the Mansfield Historical Society, the Mansfield Shire, the Mansfield Cultural Heritage and Arts Centre (MCHAC), Community Bank Mansfield and District, Taungurung Land and Waters Council and the Gadhaba Local Aboriginal Network.

I am proud that the Federal Government will be contributing funding to the Museum, which will be an important economic contributor to the tourism sector.
