The people of Indi expect integrity, transparency and accountability from the government when spending taxpayer money.
That was the message expressed by the hundreds of people, in person and online, who joined
with me last night at my End Pork Barrelling Community Forum.Thank you to leading integrity experts Geoffrey Watson SC, Dr Catherine Williams and Dr Simon Longstaff for joining us in Wodonga and sharing your knowledge, experience and considered analysis.
The ‘hypothetical’ hosted by Geoffrey Watson really demonstrated how a lack of transparency and accountability has led to wasted public money and distrust in Government. It was a novel way to present such a complex issue and Geoffrey and our local ‘actors’ did a fabulous job role-playing the ethical dilemma.
The event was a lot of fun, and now the serious work continues.
The Government must back my Bill, Australians want these reforms.
Please sign my open letter to the Prime Minister in support of my End Pork Barrelling Bill.
