This is Eve, a student at Australian National University, who has interned in my office in Parliament in recent weeks.
Eve was taking part in the Australian National Internships program, which offers the opportunity to get up close with the work of a parliamentarian’s office and to contribute to policy making.
In her time in my office, Eve undertook a research project looking at the workforce in residential aged care in Indi and how that compares to the rest of Australia. Eve looked at trends and what that means for future challenges in aged care.
I will be able to use this in my work as I develop policy around aged care, and as I consider what Government policies will mean for Indi. I’m so grateful to Eve for her work that will make a real difference.
Earlier this week we attended an event for participants of the program and we were lucky enough to chat to Speaker of the House Milton Dick, who gave us insight into how he is getting into the role.
