Today is a significant day....

Helen Haines MP

Today is a significant day.

The opening of the 47th Parliament was marked with a memorable and generous welcome to country from Aunty Matilda and her son Paul House.

I am so grateful and honoured to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people who welcomed us with a smoking ceremony and painting of ochre in the forecourt this morning.

It was a beautiful start to the new term of Parliament.
